Ever wonder what it is like to be at the drag strip, blasting down the asphalt with your engine roaring? Come join us and find out on Sunday June 19^th 2011 (Father’s Day). What a cool gift for dad! County Corvette will be holding a race day for the beginner in all of us at Maple Grove Raceway! We will even have First, Second and Third place trophies for the winners!!!  It will be fun to do and it will be our first mid year fundraiser benefiting the Ronald McDonald House.

 

Gates will open at 8:00 am. Every car racing must get safety checked at that time. Remember Drivers, no shorts, sleeveless shirts or opened toe shoes and a helmet is required if you run faster than 13.99. Time Trials will start at 9:00. Then, racing will be from 10:00am to 4:00pm. 

 

We will be sharing an event being held at Maple Grove Raceway for that day. A “5K Pro Shootout” race will be happening at the same time we will be doing our event. Yes, it is a change from our first survey, but we see it as a plus for us all! We won’t have unlimited passes down the track, but we figure we should still get 3 or more, and still have the full timing system operations so you will have all the run slips for the day. Proof!!! Another plus is, we will be able to enjoy watching “Pro Racers” go as fast as 9.00 seconds at around 150 mph. You can be sure that some of them will have their front wheels high in the sky!

 

This will be a great way for our customers and friends of County Corvette to meet each other and spend a fun-filled day together, plus we can help raise money for the Ronald McDonald House at the same time!

 

The concession stand will be open at the track for food and drink, but you are welcome to bring your own food or drink as well!

 

The price of a ticket to run will be $65.00. That will cover the cost of one (1) driver and one (1) crewmember seated in the car at arrival. Anybody else that isn’t racing, but still wants to support you, can purchase a ticket for $15.00 per person or $ 20.00 per car load. This will pay for their entry and insurance while they are inside the track.  ALL tickets must be PRE-PAY through us here at County Corvette to avoid any complications with Maple Grove Raceway. The tickets for Drivers and Spectators will be sent to you in advance through County Corvette. NO ticket purchases for this at the gate.

 

We will have a “Crash Course” on June 16th at 7:00 PM on what to expect here at County Corvette.  I will go over all the finer points on doing a burnout, to staging the car for the lights!   I will also go over where the parking will be and what to expect for the safety inspection. Most cars are already good to go, but it is always smart to be on top of things that they want from us drivers.

                                               

County Corvette will also be having a “Dyno Pull Day” in the near future. You can see what kind of horsepower your car is putting out. Should you want your car “Dyno Tuned”, we will be able to set you up with an appointment for that as well. You will be surprised to find out how much Hidden Horse Power that is in your car right now!  Call James Turner for more details!

 

This is something we would like to enjoy with you, and again, it is for a good cause, the Ronald McDonald House! I’m sure this will be a bit of a car show too so don’t forget to make your baby shine!!!

 

Please give us your information as soon as you can. We would like to have the car count for this event set by May 31^st. Remember, All types of cars and all clubs are welcome. Street Cars to Hot Rods. (But sorry no motorcycles)
